Videocassette: Class Afloat: Concordia Sails the World!
Travel below decks and visit the students and crew of Concordia as they sail the world. Footage from Class Afloat '95-96 in the Suez Canal and Indian Ocean, the Durban to Cape Town leg of Class Afloat '94-'95, the '94-'95 Boston homecoming, and the '94-'95 New York to Boston leg!!

Class Afloat Teacher's Guides:
Elementary: Fall semester themes (correlated to 4 Class Afloat News each) on Exploration and Oceans; 3 spring semester themes on Cultural Diversity, Peace and Folktales. Easy to use with regional information, background building, literature connections and activities for social studies, language arts, science and math, as well as theme-long activities.

Middle: Student teams for geography; history; environmental issues; technology and live support; nutrition & health; sailing, navigation and weather; cultures; economics and trade; politics; life skills. Also, worksheets, regional information, bios and photos of students, faculty and crew, and itinerary and port stop mailing addresses.

Both guides reflect the extraordinary multidisciplinary aspects of an ocean journey around the world: geography, world history, cultures, science, math, weather and wildlife, as well as planning, decision-making, discipline, confidence, teamwork, and tolerance.

A bi-weekly newsletter (8 Fall issues from September 9 to December 16; 12 Spring issues from January 20 to June 23) featuring Concordia's Ship's Log, Student Journals and a special student Regional Reflection, Q&A between students on shore and students at sea (e-mail, fax or mail your students' best question - the best of the best will be relayed by satellite to Concordia!), Extra! Extra!, Quotable Quote, Quiz, and a special Teacher's Page containing Teaching Activities for Science, Social Studies, Language Arts, Math and more.
