When we experience a time zone change we change our clocks one hour ahead. The Captain decides when we're going to change. Usually we do it at night.
Sometimes it's a bonus because the change will take an hour off my "watch". If my watch starts at two am and we change at two am then it becomes three am and I miss an hour of watch. I like that because then I can go to bed earlier because my watch ends earlier.

This is a hard question, but I think that the thing I learned about myself and which surprised me the most during this trip is that I can live in a small space with a lot of people for a long time without a lot of difficulties. That surprised me because I'm a very independent person who likes and needs to have a lot of time alone, but on the Concordia that rarely happens.
I was sure that I would have some problems with always having to be with other people but finally I am used to that. Now I like to always have a friend around to talk to. I still like to have some time alone, but I miss it less than I thought I would.

While at sea, the Class Afloat students aboard the Concordia do get some exercise on most days. One thing that we do is physical education. Every second morning while at sea, half of the students are woken up at approximately 6:55 am and told to be on deck within five minutes or else they get Bosun's duty. While on deck, our director leads an aerobics class which consists of stretches, push-ups, and sit-ups. After aerobics are over, we are asked to lay aloft in the rigging for some more exercise. Occasionally, we are told to unfurl a sail so we can set it as well.
While at port, every morning at seven o'clock the whole student body has to wake up for a morning jog which usually lasts approximately thirty minutes. It is fun to do some sightseeing in a new place as we get our morning exercise. As you can see, we try to keep in shape.
