What is it like getting lots of messages and mail from students across the US and Canada? Parkway Elementary School, Boone, NC

It is a lot of fun to get letters from students on land. When we are at sea we lose touch with what is going on back home. The little things are always fun to hear about. For example, one student told me what was going on in the show Roseanne. It is also fun when students send pictures of themselves. One year students sent a video to the ship and they loved it. Any creative things like that are always fun to receive. When letters arrive one of our teachers goes to the post office or travel agency, depending on the port, and picks up the mail. Miss Godbold then hands the letters out to us, sometimes we read them to each other. A large envelope is up on the board and we can write letters back and put them in the envelope. The letters are sent at the next port back to the students. So keep sending mail, we enjoyed receiving your last letters.
