And They're Off!—Departing Hong Kong

On March 16, 2003 at approximately 12 p.m. local Hong Kong time, Great American II departed Hong Kong and began its race to beat the speed record from Hong Kong to New York set by the clipper ship Sea Witch in 1849 .
