sitesALIVE! NAMED WINNER OF THE
NEWSPAPER ASSOCIATION OF AMERICA FOUNDATION'S
NEWSPAPER INNOVATOR IN EDUCATION AWARD

Boston-based sitesALIVE!, an interactive educational program that sends students on worldwide research expeditions via the Internet, today was declared a winner in the Newspaper Association of America Foundation and Newseum, "Newspaper Innovators in Education " Award. This award recognizes innovation in creating Newspaper in Education programs that produce measurable education results using the newspaper as a teaching tool. The award recognizes a partnership between a newspaper and an educational organization.

sitesALIVE!, in partnership with The Wichita Eagle, took the award with a 36-part Science Expedition Series (Rainforest Live!, Oceans Live!, Wetlands & Fisheries Live!) produced by sitesALIVE! and published over three semesters by The Wichita Eagle. The series also integrated a co-branded website for access by subscribing teachers. Each series was subscribed by teachers beyond target goals. Each program received an overwhelmingly strong survey response regarding the usefulness and effect for teachers and students.
