afternoon no wind, drifting. Evening, breeze came from south, sailed due west then wind
headed us further to north. Through early morning, sailed long port tack toward coast,
slowly lifted along coast, sailed within 5 miles of Ystervarkpunt, tacked planning NW flow
to lift toward Cape. Lift slowly came, blue sky, nearly fetching Cape Agulhas, but clouds
on horizon may have new wind. Rich Wilson |

| This
a.m. passed 2 sperm whales close aboard, about 25-30' each, side by side, about 50 yards
off port beam, lolligagging along. Then saw new sightsomething leaping out of the
water and diving back in, somewhat shorter than porpoise or dolphin, but much fatter
around, maybe a baby sperm whale? Big splash, not a breach. Who can clear this up?
