ORCA® is a new digital beacon system capable of alerting a ship in the event a
crew-member falls overboard. The system consists of a water activated beacon worn by an
individual, a receiver mounted in the ship's bridge, and a directional finder for radio
locating the victim. The ORCA® can significantly reduce the time it takes to
locate and recover someone who has fallen overboard, thus increasing the chances of a
successful recovery.
