Hi, there. My name is April Collier and I’m from just north of San Francisco. I’m a Pacific kind of girl, born and raised. I came to South Caicos to study this semester because it sounded like a dream come true, literally. My dream is to find a company to pay me to go all around the world and explore things, and then come home and tell people all about my adventures. In technical terms, I want to be an environmental consultant, and this program is my first hands-on training in field research. I learned to SCUBA dive when I was visiting my father on a military base in the South Pacific. We dove at least three or four times a week, but I haven’t been since I was fifteen. In Northern California my dad, my sister and I do a lot of free diving for abalone, but it’s cold, cold, cold. I guess I just love being in the water, always have. I’m really looking forward to this semester.
