Zoning Out - Plant and Animal Zones
Visit a beach (ocean, lake or pond) near your house with your family, and bring a
simple field guide with you to help you identify local plants and animals. Observe the
plant and animal life that lives far away from the water's edge. Also observe the
organisms that live next to the water's edge as well as in the water (you may need a
mask and snorkel!!). Compare the organisms that live in these different places. Are
they the same? Are they different? Why do you think so?
