| What Resources Do You Depend On?
Look around your house in the kitchen cabinets, the refrigerator, the bathroom,
your bedroom, the living room, and the basement (don’t go into your brother’s or
sister’s room!). What are some of the natural resources that you depend upon?
Think about where some of the products you use come from. Are they made from
trees? oil? sand? plants? water? Are these renewable or non-renewable resources?
How do you know? Now read the ingredients on your toothpaste tube or your
breakfast cereal. Where do these things come from? Discuss these questions and
the answers with your parents, and think about how your dependence on these
things can affect the world.
