University of Massachusetts I attend the University of Massachusetts at Amherst. My major is Natural Resource Studies (NaRest) and my minor is Anthropology. Essentially, I study the effects of people on the environment and how to deal with any damage caused. My Anthropology classes teach me about other cultures and how important it is to realize that other countries and people are much different from us. We all need to respect and learn from each other. We all have a lot to share, within our culture and outside of it. My hometown is Milford, MA, however, I grew up in New Jersey and have also lived in Michigan. I am excited for my excursion in South Caicos. I chose this program because it complements my studies well. I get to study the environment and people of South Caicos first hand, not through a book. I hope to broaden my knowledge on living sustainably in the environment, experience and learn from the islanders, and make great friends. |
