I decided to participate in the SFS South Caicos program because I
wanted to have an intense and deeply involved experience. I felt the need
to escape from the traditional academic setting and enter one where all
areas of human impact are included in education and future decision
making. SFS presents an environment where informed decision making is
encouraged and not limited to just one field of academia (i.e. politics, economics, biology,
sociology, etc.), but rather, integrates these fields to generate educated decisions that will affect the
environment and economy. I know I will gain increased respect for the environment, my peers, and
the difficulties of figuring out how to solve environmental problems. I enjoy snow and water skiing,
listening to music, running, going to Broadway shows and concerts, and learning.
