Hi! My name is Lisa Harvey. I’m a student at Mills College in Oakland, CA. My hometown is West Richland, WA, which is located in the desert near the beautiful Columbia River. My major at Mills is American Studies with a focus on Sociology, and I am minoring in Biology. My personal education includes trips to Central America in order to improve my Spanish speaking ability and to volunteer with various religious organizations. I play the guitar and djimbe (a drum). I like to sing and read, but my passion is dancing. I also have great compassion for nature which is why my interests include biological and environmental studies. I chose to go on the SFS program to South Caicos because I want to learn what I can about the environment in order to gain the necessary experience to care for and respect the earth we live on.
