Swarthmore College My original home is in Louisville, Kentucky, but my school home is Swarthmore College in Pennsylvania. While at Swarthmore, I moonlight as a Biology major with a concentration in Environmental Studies. How did I end up on South Caicos Island? I've been interested in marine environments since age 5 when, to my mom's dismay, I traded a potentially valuable Raggedy Ann doll for a $.95 book about sharks. Since then, I have expanded my interested, having recently taken courses at Swarthmore on invertebrate zoology, ecology, and marine biology. This School for Field Studies program in marine resource management interested me because it gives us students a chance to apply our knowledge to the real world and to live in the environment we are studying. I also wanted to get away from the US lifestyle to a more rustic setting where resources are not consumed so quickly and where we all share in the work. So here I am! I'm going to go swimming now.
