from Charlottesville, VA

I am a senior at the University of Vermont majoring in Water Resources, and I will be graduating this May. My college education has focused on management of natural resources, specifically water, aquatic habitats, and their inhabitants. I am from Charlottesville, Virginia, and I went to Western Albemarle High School.

This semester I am gaining valuable experience studying Marine Resource Management abroad in the Turks and Caicos Islands with the School for Field Studies (SFS). This program is giving me "hands on" experience performing field work, lab work, species identification, data analysis, and drawing conclusions from these experiments and observations. Through team work with the other SFS students we will be creating methods the local people can use to better-manage their fisheries resources.

My main activities include rock climbing, ice climbing, skiing, mountain biking, and SCUBA diving. I’m missing the ski season in Vermont this year being in the British West Indies, but the exceptional diving is making up for it.
