Oceans Live '97

Site Tour - Center for Marine Resources Studies

Long Beach was deserted until the SFS crew got there! They told stories, listened to music, and. of course, ate a marvelous dinner caught by Drew and prepared by Izzy. See last week's Journals about the campout.
Campout on Long Beach

The students, staff, and faculty at the SFS Center work hard on their studies and research from dawn till dusk and into the night. One of the ways that they can get a break is to go on one of the overnight campouts, like the one portrayed in these images.

Watch out! There's a new sport in town! It's called beach bowling, and Scott Ethington and Tim Schwab are demonstrating it here for you here. All you need is a ball, some old buoys, and a stretch of deserted beach! See last weeks journal entry about ocean currents.

Izzy, SFS Center cook, does take-out, too!

Unfortunately, the campout must end some time, and the students return to rigorous studies in the beautiful outdoors.
