Field Trip to Barry Thurling's Farm
pictures courtesy of Cathy Bierly, Intern

Recently we took a day trip to Barry Thurling's Farm to see reforestation on agricultural land. Barry is a local farmer that is reforesting his waterways in an attempt to increase his farms' production. In the afternoon, after visiting Barry's farm, we went swimming and canoeing at a nearby creek!

A bird taking in the sights at the farm.

Here Barry is talking to us about reforestation on his land. Here we are trekking through one of Barry's reforestation plots. He planted this area in order to have better water quality and less erosion in his streams.
Fun in the sun and a little canoeing after visiting
the farm.
