My name is Chris Frazar and I am a junior at Colby College in Waterville, Maine. I grew up and still live in the small town of Russell, Massachusetts. At Colby I am studying cellular and molecular biology. I am also interested in studying ecology and environmental issues, which is part of the reason why I chose to spend a semester studying the tropical rainforest in Australia with the School for Field Studies. Last January, I studied tropical ecology in Venezuela. This opportunity was one of the greatest experiences of my life, and I jumped at the chance to do something similar in Australia. In Australia we will be studying the ecology of the Atherton Tablelands and suitable strategy for their restoration. We will work with the local people and spend extensive time in the field studying the local flora and fauna.
