My name is Bekki Stevens. I am from Winchester, Massachusetts, and I will be a senior at the University of Denver. I am an environmental science major with a minor in chemistry and communications. I am particularly interested in soil and the outdoors. This program seemed ideal to me, because I will get hands-on experience.

One of the aspects of learning which is very important to me is not only having in-class experience, but being able to apply my work in the field. There are so many things I want to learn about, such as birds and other animals, and this program is a perfect opportunity for me to do so. After studying the conditions in the rainforest, I will have solidified my knowledge and learned many new things that will be helpful to me in the future. With my particular interests in the environmental science field, I could not imagine a more natural and first-class way of furthering my knowledge. This will be an experience of a lifetime.
