Take a look around at the Center for Rainforest Studies in
Queensland, Australia
where we live work, and play!

The main building at the center has a kitchen, classroom, common room, computer room, library and staff offices. Students, Faculty and Staff spend a lot of their time here throughout the day. Can you see the solar hot water heaters on the roof? (left)

O
ur computer room houses four Pentium computers and one laser printer. Students come here to type their research papers. When computer usage is high students have access to three staff computers.(right)

Our classroom is designed to hold about 36 people. It is a bit crowded but functional. When it is raining you can hardly hear the lectures over the noise of rain on the tin roof.

Students do all of the cooking and take turns in groups of four. This is a big shock for some students because they have to prepare meals for 40 people. Disasters sometimes happen but the food is usually excellent.(right)

Our program does field work everyday. Therefore, our vehicles are always in use. We have two busses and one 4x4 Troop Carrier.(left)
