While we are studying here in
the Queensland, Australia
rainforest we will take courses,
write papers, and collaborate
with scientists to collect data
about the rainforest.
Working with people who live
here, we will use our research
results to develop programs
that will help protect the animal
and plant life that live in the
rainforest. As you see in the
pictures here, we will spend
much of our time in the field
collecting data!
Let's make a plan!
SFS students have planted
hundreds of trees over the
years.
We are working on ways to
save the Australian rainforest
because it has been destroyed
and habitats have been
disrupted by agriculture,
ranching, mining and logging.
Australia has moved quickly to
confront the threats to its
remaining rainforest and most
are protected under World
Heritage designation.
Look at this - closely!
What can we learn from
this?
