Mission Beach: Three Day Field Trip

Our three day trip to Mission Beach was full of adventure. While visiting, we did research on the lifestyle and feeding habits of the cassowary. The cassowary is a giant rainforest bird very similar to an ostrich. This endangered bird plays a key role in the seed dispersal of large rainforest trees.

We had some fun in the sun during the first afternoon and evening of our trip. We could only swim in areas protected by a net because of dangerous box jellyfish that live just off the shoreline.
