tree species | Reforestation:
Measurements and
Observations
Although this rainforest and
many others are now protected
by the Austrailian government,
scientists realized these efforts
were not enough. Protected
rainforests are usually small
and isolated from each other,
which means they usually have
little room to grow or the
ability to support a wide
variety of life forms.

Clare measuring the height of a
Blue Quandong | Reforestation makes this
possible, but scientists are still
working to find the best
method to assure the success
of replantings. From these measurements and
observations, the SFS students
should be able to help
determine the success of
reforestation in this protected
rainforest.
