My name is Christina Bird. I'm from Annapolis, Maryland. I am a junior at Smith College in Massachusetts, majoring in biology and minoring in public policy. I chose to participate in the School for Field Studies Australian program because I am fascinated by the relationship between the various components that make up an ecosystem, particularly within the rainforest. I also want a better understanding of how to protect the rainforest without hurting the lifestyles of the people who depend on its resources. This is a great opportunity to see another part of the world and to live and learn in the outdoors!

My interests include camping, birdwatching, singing, sailing, and windsurfing.
