Simmons College I feel that spending a semester in the Australian rainforest will be an exciting and beneficial addition to my college education. The SFS programs provide students with hands-on experience involving world environmental problems and a focused curriculum that cannot be obtained in such depth during a regular semester at college. I am eager to enter the field and contribute to saving an endangered ecosystem that contains beauty and diversity. Some of my hobbies and interests include hiking, camping, and traveling all of which I will become familiar with in the next three months. I hope to find a career in field research after I graduate, and I feel that a semester in the rainforest will provide a basis for my research and give me a feeling for the types of issues I will be dealing with in the future. |
