University of Illinois/Central Office-Urbana My name is Michelle Machalka. I was born and raised in Lockport, IL, one of Chicago's south western suburbs. I just graduated from the University of Illinois in Champaign ( Fighting Illini) in December, one semester early. My degree is from the School of Life Sciences in Ecology, Ethology, and Evolution (EEE). I also have a minor in chemistry. I have had two major goals scince I was fourteen. One was to work in the rainforests as an ecologist. I applied for the School for Field Studies' Rainforest program in Australia to enhance my knowledge of rainforests and to get hands-on experience working in one. My second goal is to go to the Peace Corps which I am currently in the nomination process for. If I get accepted, I will be in Eastern Europe in June 1997 in the Environmental Awareness program.
