Barry Stephenson

Clark University
from Balleroy, France

My name is Barry Stephenson and I am a junior at Clark University in Worcester, MA. When I'm not at Clark, I live in the village of Balleroy, in Normandy, France. I am a Biology major, with a concentration in Ecology and Evolution, and decided to enter the School for Field Studies' Australian Rainforest Program in order to gain my first solid practical field experience. It was obvious to me that lecture classes only could give me a certain perspective on my chosen subject of study; to gain a fuller understanding, I would need to immerse myself in it completely. Three months in the Australian rainforest will definitely provide me with the field experience and the subject immersion that I want. I also believe it will help me gain a clearer understanding of what specific aspect of biology I want to pursue.
