This is the main building at the
center. It has a kitchen, class room,
common room, computer room,
library and staff offices. Can you
see the solar hot water heaters on
the roof? | The Center for Rainforest
Studies in
Queensland, Australia Here is a short picture tour of
the center. These pictures give
you an inside view into our
daily lives. Be on the look out

Our program does field work
everyday. Therefore, our vehicles
are always in use. We have two
busses and one 4x4 Troop Carrier. |
Students do all of the cooking and
take turns in groups of four. This is
a big shock for some students
because they have to prepare meals
for 40 people. Disasters sometimes
happen but the food is usually
excellent. |
Our classroom is designed to hold
about 36 people. It is a bit crowded
but functional. When it is raining
you can hardly hear the lectures
over the noise of rain on the tin
roof. |
Our computer room houses four
Pentium computers and one laser
printer. Students come here to type
their research paper . When
computer usage is high students
have access to three staff
computers.
