Hi! I'm Sara Wilson. I'm a student at the College of the Atlantic in Bar Harbor, Maine. Originally, I'm from Indianapolis, Indiana. My college is very small and specializes in one major, Human Ecology. It is a generalized approach to learning. A human ecologist sees the world as a big picture, where everything is interconnected to everything else. A person must know a little bit about everything in order solve complicated problems. In other words I'm specializing in becoming a generalist. But within that world view I want to study environmental biology, especially how frogs and reptiles are affected by their environment. I am so excited about studying in the rainforest, because I will learn first hand about the environmental problems facing this fragile ecosystem. It is a perfect human ecological experience...learning how human lifestyles, animal behavior, biology, and students all fit together.
