Hello! My name is Allison Zeigler. I call Pottstown, Pennsylvania home, where I live with my parents, two sisters named Jessica and Megan, and our 14-year-old puppy dog, Licorice. When I’m home, I like to read, see my friends, and spend lots and lots of time eating.

I go to school at Juniata College, located in the great metropolis of Huntingdon, Pennsylvania. I am a junior, and I study environmental science, with a minor in politics. My dream has always been to study marine biology, particularly the intelligence of marine mammals, but since coming to school, my interests have expanded to include the entire realm of environmental science, especially the effect various environmental problems have on the surrounding communities. This is what drew me to the Mexico program within the School of Field Studies. Being able to learn about the ecosystem and focus on how to remedy problems for the good of the community will teach us all so much—not only about coastal ecology, but also about how people’s lives can be directly affected by decisions made by others acting in the name of science.
